Creating a new website is not for the faint of heart.
But it was worth it when the Central West Coast Chapter was recognized at conference this year for BEST CHAPTER WEBSITE AWARD. This award was determined by a panel of independent judges.
President Dee Zulauf, APR, led the charge during her term as president; Gravity Free redesigned the site. Several people participated in the creation of the new website - Debby Steele, Emily Sperling, Susie Bowie & Suzane Dameron among others. Webmaster Susie Bowie and President Debby Steele went together to the stage to receive the award during the Chapter Awards Luncheon on Monday.
Chapter Awards are traditionally announced during lunch on Mondays and followed with the Dillon dessert, a concoction that is unique to each conference but always required to be made of chocolate, a favorite of FPRA founder John Dillon.
In addition to Best Chapter Website, CWC was also recognized for excellence in:
BEST CHAPTER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. We were recognized for our programming & our collaboration with other organizations.
SPIRIT OF FPRA Award - CWC President Debby Steele won for her excellent work during the past year and her notebook chronicling the year's events of our chapter.
BEST PAST STATE PRESIDENT - Joe Curley, APR, CPRC was bestowed an outstanding honor as his peers across the state distinguished him as Best Past State President.
The Central West Coast Chapter also earned several Image Awards.
Awards of Distinction went to: Julie Platt, APR; Lynn Hobeck Bates, Debby Steele
A Judges Award went to Debby Steele.
The 2008 FPRA Conference Blog also won an Award of Distinction. Suzanne Dameron served as a member of the 6 member blog team headed by Chris Gent, APR.
