The 2009 FPRA Conference starts Sunday night. If you aren't going to conference this year, you can follow every presentation and event via the FPRA Conference Blog. Last year, thousands of people visited the blog during conference. You can visit at www.cwcfpra.org.
This year we have three CWC chapter members on the State Blog team - Emily Sperling, Susie Bowie and myself. Last year we had about half a dozen people on the team and this year, we have twice as many. You'll be able to follow even more of the conference this year.
The conference celebrates going green this year. I'm a member of the green team and we've spent the past few months figuring out areas where we can recycle, reduce and reuse. One visible major change - conference notebooks are on flashdrives. Several of us are carpooling - our car is packed with CWCers. You'll find out more ways we've gone green at the conference and on the blog.
The opening keynote speaker is Peter Shankman of Help A Reporter Out. Has anyone NOT heard of him? He started an e-blast with reporter's requests for content and stories. It goes out to people who can provide the content and stories - public relations professionals. Brilliant. We'll hear more about this from Shankman on Monday morning. And the blog team will have the coverage for you.
