A Day at Aspire as a PR agency owner

8:00 am – Review e mails, news alerts & online news. Assign tasks to staff and assign next steps to various consultants on projects.
9:00 A client’s friend took her photo for a brochure and it’s not working. We send the photo to a photographer in town who works magic in the digital darkroom.
9:15 am. A client is expanding their business to include an online venue. We are working with an independent technology consultant who is helped us restructure the content with a mind-mapping process. We set a meeting to “pressure test” some assumptions the client has about the target market.
9:30 An article about a client project was published this month in a national industry publication. We request reprints to learn that they are $9.00 each. We apply for a limited copyright use from the publisher which is a fraction of the cost. We need to create an excerpt of the article.
10 am: For another client, the mini-website being added to an existing website is going through design phase issues. The rollovers are not working out as designed…the web designer requests permission to use a different style which we agree to. She also requests additional descriptive copy. We work on this web page copy for her.
11:00: We write a release for the above article that was published & send off for approval.
Noon
: I set up the social media team for Tuesday’s CWC/FPRA professional development luncheon. While it is labor intensive, if we can have one blogger per panelist, we get a better record of the panel discussion. I arrange for five bloggers to cover the 5-member panel.
1:00: A client picks up her business cards and brochure – all printed at a local green printer.
2-4pm: Prepare a client for a radio interview. I only spend an hour there but it takes an hour of travel back and forth to attend the meeting
4:15 pm: Operations Meeting: We have extra time during the summer so we’re taking advantage and reviewing our procedures in the company. We celebrate a one-year anniversary this August so we are creating our PR & Marketing Plan as well as our budget. We have had an inquiry from a large organization outside our area and we discuss what that proposal needs to address.
5:00 pm – 7pm: Meeting at Scope to discuss the next steps for the
Summit
for Environmental Action.
